About the MJPHM Journal Collection

The Malaysian Journal of Public Health Medicine (MJPHM) has been publishing peer-reviewed research in public health since 2001. As the official journal of the Malaysian Public Health Physicians’ Association, MJPHM serves as a vital platform for disseminating research on population health, disease prevention, health systems, and health policy, with a particular focus on issues relevant to Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian region.

Over more than two decades of continuous publication, MJPHM has assembled a substantial archive of research spanning diverse areas of public health including infectious disease epidemiology, non-communicable disease prevention, environmental health, occupational health, maternal and child health, health economics, and health services research. The journal’s archives represent an invaluable resource for researchers, policymakers, and public health practitioners seeking evidence to inform practice and policy in the Malaysian context.

Scope and Coverage

MJPHM publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, case reports, and commentary pieces across the full spectrum of public health disciplines. The journal’s editorial scope encompasses studies conducted in Malaysia and other countries that generate evidence relevant to public health practice in the region. Key subject areas represented in the journal’s archives include communicable disease surveillance and control, non-communicable disease epidemiology and prevention, environmental and occupational health, health promotion and education, health systems and services research, health economics and policy analysis, reproductive, maternal, and child health, nutrition and food safety, mental health and substance use, and gerontology and ageing.

MJPHM publishes two to three issues per year, with some volumes containing supplementary issues for conference proceedings and special topics. The journal has been indexed in several regional and international databases, enhancing the visibility and impact of the research it publishes. Early volumes of the journal were published primarily in print with PDF versions available through the journal’s website, while more recent volumes have transitioned to predominantly digital publication.
