About us

MJPHM — Malaysia Jom Personal Health Movement — is a health information platform that makes evidence-based health knowledge accessible to every Malaysian.

Our mission

We believe every Malaysian deserves access to health information that is accurate, easy to understand, and free from commercial influence. Our mission is to bridge the gap between medical research and the people who need it most.

Too much health information online is unreliable. Search for any common health condition and you’ll find pages of conflicting advice, unproven remedies, and content designed to sell you something rather than help you. Malaysians searching for answers about diabetes, heart health, mental wellbeing, or their children’s health deserve better than that.

MJPHM was created to solve this problem. We take the findings from peer-reviewed medical research — studies published in reputable medical journals and endorsed by health authorities — and translate them into clear, practical information that anyone can understand and act on.

What makes us different

Evidence over opinion

We don’t publish health claims unless they’re supported by credible research. If the evidence is unclear or conflicting, we say so rather than pretending there’s a simple answer.

Written for Malaysians

Our content is specifically tailored to Malaysia’s health landscape — our diseases, our healthcare system, our dietary patterns, and our cultural context.

Plain language

Medical research is only useful if people can understand it. We explain complex health topics without dumbing them down, using language that respects our readers’ intelligence.

No commercial influence

We don’t accept payment to recommend products or treatments. Our editorial decisions are based on evidence, not advertising revenue.

What we cover

MJPHM covers the full spectrum of health topics relevant to Malaysians, with a particular focus on the conditions and health challenges most prevalent in our population.

Diabetes and blood sugar management
Heart health and hypertension
Mental health and stress
Weight management and nutrition
Women’s and maternal health
Infectious diseases (dengue, TB, hepatitis)
Workplace health and ergonomics
Environmental health and haze
Traditional and complementary medicine
Healthcare access and health systems

Our approach to accuracy

Health information can directly affect the decisions people make about their wellbeing. We take that responsibility seriously. Every article published on MJPHM goes through a structured editorial process before it reaches our readers.

We source all factual claims from peer-reviewed medical literature, official guidelines from the World Health Organization and the Malaysian Ministry of Health, and published clinical evidence. Statistics are verified against their original publications. Medical terminology is checked for precision and explained in accessible language.

After publication, we continue to monitor our content. Articles display a “last reviewed” date and are updated when new evidence emerges that changes the guidance. If we identify an error, we correct it promptly and transparently.

Who we are

MJPHM is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The site is built on a domain with over two decades of history in Malaysian public health — and we carry that legacy forward by maintaining the same commitment to accuracy and evidence-based information that this platform has always been known for.

We are a small team that cares deeply about getting health information right. If you’re a health professional, researcher, or medical writer interested in contributing, we’d welcome your expertise. Read our author guidelines to learn more.
